THE ROOKIE LEAGUE are a Sheffield based quintet and they play pop punk. After the break up of Sheffield pop punks Chasing Amy ex-bassist Sam Hague was contacted by ex-vocalist of Ship to Shore, Matt Snape.

Sam then asked ex-Chasing Amy guitarist Patrick Fletcher to join. The band also recruited ex-All At Stake drummer Shane Lloyd… So basically The Rookie League is made up of ex members of previous pop punk bands.

As a joke they would say ‘we’re made up of all the rubbish band members’ and this is how the name of the band came about. Originally Sam was on bass but after a few line up changes Sam took the role of guitarist. Close friend Adam Richardson took over as bassist.

Shortly after releasing their first EP and music video, Matt Snape departed from the band on his own terms. The band didn’t waste any time and replaced Matt the following day with Jonny Thorpe. The bands popularity and fan base has continued to grow.

From what seemed like a step back at first has turned into a giant leap forward. THE ROOKIE LEAGUE has been lucky enough to share the stage with the likes of Mayday Parade, We Are The Ocean, Madina Lake, Polar Bear Club, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Futures.
